How to give Finishing Touches in your AI Avatar Portrait

Hey there! So you've got this amazing AI-generated portrait, but something feels a little... off? Maybe the smile isn't quite right, or the eyes aren't looking straight at you. Don't worry, I've got you covered! In this blog, I'll walk you through fixing your AI portrait in Photoshop step by step. Even if you're a total beginner, you’ll be able to follow along. Let’s dive in!

How to Fix Your AI-Generated Portrait in Photoshop: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Import Your Image into Photoshop

First things first, open Photoshop and load your AI-generated image. Just drag and drop it or go to File > Open and select your image.

Step 2: Check Your Resolution and DPI

Before we start editing, let’s make sure your image quality is good enough for final export.

  • Go to Image > Image Size.

  • Make sure the Resolution (DPI) is set to at least 300 DPI.

  • The dimensions (Resolution) should be above 1000 pixels on both width and height.

Why does this matter? Because a low-resolution image will look blurry or pixelated after editing. So double-check this step!

Step 3: Open the Liquify Tool

Now the fun begins! Head over to Filter > Liquify. This tool is a game-changer for fixing facial features.

In the Liquify panel, you’ll see several options on the right side to adjust:

  • Eyes: Make them bigger, smaller, or tilt them slightly.

  • Nose: Adjust width, height, or symmetry.

  • Mouth: Modify the smile, lip curve, or overall expression.

  • Face Shape: Slim it down, make it wider, or adjust jawlines.

Take your time here—small adjustments make a big difference!

Step 4: Add Finishing Touches

Once you're done in Liquify, click OK to apply the changes. Now you can fine-tune:

  • Brightness and Contrast (Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast)

  • Skin smoothing (use a soft brush on a low-opacity layer)

  • Color grading (optional, but makes a difference!)

Step 5: Save and Export

Finally, save your masterpiece!

  • Go to File > Export > Export As.

  • Choose JPEG or PNG.

  • Make sure the quality is set to 100%.

And You're Done!

Your AI-generated portrait should now look polished, expressive, and just like YOU! Sure, if someone zooms in super close, they might notice it’s AI art—but at a glance, it’s going to look fantastic.
